Be Part

Our work wouldn’t be possible without volunteers. Be there for us. Be there for people who need you.

As a charitable organisation, we depend on community volunteers to help us accomplish our mission of having a society that has embraced Obuntubulamu (Ubuntu/humanity) as a human capital asset through our numerous programmes. Volunteers impact our entire organisation by helping with both short-term and long-term projects.

There are lots of ways you can volunteer for NDF. You could become a Ekisaakaate speaker, mobiliser, a demonstrator or a listening volunteer at one of our events, helping us to answer questions, calls and messages from people who need some support. And there are a range of other opportunities available too.

Who we’re looking for

From time to time, we look for support with event organisation, fundraising, or even helping out in one of our workshops and other activities. It all depends on what you’re good at and what you’ve got time for. And we are an equal opportunities employer – we don’t discriminate against tribe/ethnicity, race, colour, religion, sex and gender, nationality, age, or disability.

“Anyone can be an NDF volunteer: you don’t need to have been through a specific life experience or be from a distinct walk of life. Anyone who’s over 18, wants to help others, and is tolerant and open-minded, and probably most importantly, has high regard for Obuntubulamu is welcome.”

Rashid Nyombi – Former volunteer now a Management Associate at NDF.

What’s in it for me?

Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn how NDF works. We provide orientation training, flexible scheduling, and ongoing learning opportunities through special lectures open only to volunteers.  You will also have the opportunity to meet, talk and network with others who share your fascination with helping others – one of the tenets of Obuntubulamu! Gain valuable experience towards your next appointment here or elsewhere.
